A jewel with pink reflexes,
rich in history, culture and art.
Spello will charm you with its narrow flowered alleyways
climbing up the mount Subasio.
A small corner of the world capable to arouse emotions in the visitor.

Spello, "Splendidissima colonia Iulia"
Spello lies at the heart of the Umbrian valley on the west side of Mount Subasio between Foligno and Perugia. Spello has been called the “stone town”. Its appearance is characterized by the white and pink limestone and its narrow and steep alleyways, arches, small hidden squares, terraces, towers and stairways make this place unique.

Civic and Diocesan Picture Gallery
Heart of the local art
Since 1994 the communal picture gallery has been housed in Palazzo dei Canonici, a 16th-century building adjacent to the church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Its collection is closely related to the territory. The works exhibited belong to the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Municipality of Spello, others were acquired from private collections.
