You are what you eat. Take control of your physical and mental health. Sodium plays an essential role in maintaining blood pressure, but too much can cause high blood pressure. Sodium is also essential for nerve function and communication between the cells of the body. Count, track, and chart the sodium provided by foods in your diet.
Use the count and organiser tools to keep a daily record and bar chart illustration of the sodium in mg and %RDA (Adult Daily Recommended Dietary Allowance) provided by 250 heart healthy foods, 55 popular "not heart healthy" foods, and foods you choose to add to the counter in the quantities you’ve eaten.
This beautifully designed healthy diet tool with around 200 photos also provides essential nutritional knowledge for a heart healthy diet and 250 heart healthy foods (including heart-healthy scores).
Touch “Count” on the top menu bar, select the date, set the gender icon, then follow instructions to select foods from the 250 heart healthy and 55 "not heart healthy" foods listed and/or add in foods with their sodium content using the edit tool.
Select your preferred weight unit (g or oz), then complete the weight (use the weight guide if necessary), for a display of “Total Sodium” in mg or %RDA.
Touch the Sodium entry (mg or %RDA) in the “Total Sodium” display to find out the individual contribution of any food in the quantity you’ve defined. Touch any food in the Contribution screen for the sodium content in mg or %RDA for the individual food in the quantity you’ve set.
Touch the food name in the top menu bar of foods in coloured type (ie heart healthy foods) for detailed nutritional information about the food including its heart-healthy score and useful hyperlinks to essential nutrient knowledge and other essential information.
Touch the organiser tool in the top menu for a bar chart illustration of the total sodium provided by the foods you’ve eaten measured against the RDA. Touch view on the bar chart screen to view and edit your intake as a list, and access nutritional information.
Essential nutritional information and knowledge about the 250 heart healthy foods in coloured type can also be accessed through the colour-coded Venetian blind opening screen where foods are listed according to their sodium content in mg or %RDA per 100g, in food groups, and in an A to Z too via the search icon and All toggle (top left screen).
Use the bookmark function to archive favourites (accessed via the search icon and Fav toggle (top left screen).
The interface is easy, quick, and intuitive to navigate, colour-coded, searchable, zoomable using the pinch screen function, and viewable in portrait and landscape. Specially edited and designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod screens.
