About this app
TalkSooner allows parents to easily access information and resources about substance use prevention to help kids navigate the challenges they face. The application is designed to make difficult conversations easier, empowering parents with talking tips and videos, news on what’s trending, eye-opening statistics and warning signs of trouble.
Parents are encouraged to use this app to inform themselves about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and other substances so they can in turn accurately inform their children. We know what you’re thinking...they’re not going to listen. However, studies have shown that young people do indeed seek guidance from parents and other adults about substance use.
They may roll their eyes, but they will open their ears.
TalkSooner is a product of multiple county coalitions in Michigan. Its goal is to help parents and youth make healthy choices and delay the onset of substance use through positive, honest conversations centered on factual information.
The sooner you TalkSooner, the better. Download the app now.
