Surah al-Hashr (The Banishment)
This Surah is ‘madani’ and it has 24 ayaat. It is narrated that whoever recites this Surah will be sent salutations from Jannah, Jahannam, the angels, the Heavens, the Earth, the trees, the birds, the sun and the moon and these will pray for the forgiveness of his sins. When he dies, he will die a martyr. If a person recites both Surah ar-Rahman and Surah al-Hashr then one angel will be assigned to protect him at all times.
If a four-rak’ah prayer is recited where after Surah al-Hamd Surah al-Hashr is recited, then whatever important work one goes to do will be successful (with the condition that it is not a sin). Drinking water in which this Surah has been dissolved is good for memory and concentration. If this Surah is recited for forty consecutive days without missing a day, it will make even the hardest task become an easy one.
Reward of reciting Surah Hashr
1. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: Whoever recites Surah Hashr then none from among Paradise, Hell, Arsh (Allah’s Throne) Chair, Curtains, the seven Skies, the Seven earths, space, wind, birds, trees, mountains, Sun, Moon, and angels would miss seeking forgiveness for him and yearning for his safety. If that man dies that day or that night he would die a martyr.

AL HASHR (59)
i) Whoso recites this sruah, all the dwellers of
paradise, the seven heavens, the seven earths, and also arsh, kursi, hijab, angels, space, winds, birds, trees, mountains, sun, moon would seek forgiveness and safety for him, and if he dies on that day or night he would die a martyr.
ii) Whoso recites this surah during Friday night
would remain safe from all calamities till monring.
iii) Whoso prays a 4 rak-at salat and recites this
surah after reciting surah al Fatihah in every rak-at would achieve success and fulfilment in whatever legitimate activitity he undertakes.
iv) Whoso writes this surah on paper and wears it around his neck as a tawiz all his legitimate needs would be fulfilled.
v) Whoso writes this surah on a china plate,
washes it with clean water would get rid of
forgetfulness and his i.q. would go in higher grades.
