The next Everglades Challenge is Saturday, March 02, 2013 and goes for 8 days.

WaterTribe events are dangerous. Before even considering these challenges you
must be an expert in your chosen craft . There are no safety boats, no safety
net, and no excuses. Your safety and well being are up to you and only you.

The WaterTribe hosts several adventure expedition races every year. These
events are done with kayaks, canoes, and small sailboats. The Ultimate Florida
challenge is a 1200 mile race that circumnavigates the state of Florida and
takes the challengers through shark, alligator, and even python-infested
waters. This month long race also has a 40 mile portage where all challengers
must carry everything they started with.

The Everglades Challenge starts on the Gulf of Mexico in Ft. DeSoto Park and
traverses the southwestern coast of Florida and through the heart of
Everglades National Park to end up in Key Largo Florida. Racers typically must
push themselves through the night in dangerous conditions through some of the
most challenging water in Florida to finish. The distance is 260 to 300 miles
depending on your course. It's quite the adventure.

This App allows you to track the progress of the events as well as the
practice events (derby's) that occur between the major races. All challengers
use a satellite tracker that records their positions at different intervals.
You can use this app to view the race progress as it occurs and even follow
individual challengers.

Other Watertribe events include the North Carolina Challenge and the the
Ultimate Marathon. As these event dates approach, the app will be updated to
reflect the upcoming challenge.
