The logbook, beyond the legislative obligations, should be part of the navigator's DNA and a fundamental tool that accompanies the life of your boat.

In the maritime traditions, the logbook or board book was used to document the history and events that occurred during a trip, a stop or whatever happened on a particular ship or military unit. It is thanks to the scrupulous notes in the logbook, of officers or commanders, that today we can reconstruct the history and events that took place at sea in the past centuries.

In addition to being an important document source of a trip, if properly duly completed, the logbook can also be useful for proving, to any and future owners, the care and maintenance that have been carried out on the unit and, in the case of accident, the proper conduction of the vessel.

Moreover, by recording in the logbook, route, ship point at a specific time, speed and marine weather conditions, it is possible, in case of malfunction of the navigation instruments, to estimate in which area or area of the navigation basin you are.

The logbook from GeorgeApp is a simple tool for recording the main elements that must be present in a logbook during navigation, at the touch of a button.

GeorgeApp "Logbook" automatically records the timestamp and the position, the boat captain can integrate the important infractions such as:

- COG (Course over ground)
- CO * (bow of the boat)
- Force and direction of the wind
- State of the sea
- Atmospheric pressure
- Type of propulsion (sail and / or engine)
- Engine hours
- Engine revolutions
- Fuel level
- Speed detected
- Sails used
- Possible additional notes.

All data are recorded in a csv file and therefore can be opened with any text editor for quick reference or with a database or a spreadsheet, for any subsequent processing.
