ToothPic is a startup spin-off of Politecnico di Torino incubated in I3P, developing innovative technologies for Camera Identification.
Camera Identification consists in the ability to trace a picture back to the camera that shot it, relying on the manufacturing imperfections of camera sensors, that leave in each photo an invisible and unique fingerprint.
ToothPic developed a technology for online user authentication.
Users are identified by the possession of their devices, which is recognized by their camera fingerprint.
We designed the system to be fast and user-friendly, and we need your help to test it on various devices and different users.
We created a game, here are the instructions.
- After your consent, the system will register the camera fingerprint of your device, if compatible.
- Then, you’ll be able to complete missions. During a mission, the system will compare the registered fingerprint with the one calculated on-the-fly, in a way similar to the authentication process.
- The missions will be spread throughout the day, and it won’t be possible to complete missions that are less than 1 hr apart.
- Each mission will be rewarded with 5 points. You can gain extra points if your device model is still unknown to the system, and for inviting friends who will start playing.
We neither collect, nor ask, nor are interested in your personal data or your photos.
