Vet CPR was developed to give veterinary professionals (veterinarians and
technicians) a rapid way to calculate emergency drug doses and volumes that
can be used during a CPCR setting or for reference when preparing for patient
admission to the hospital or prior to anesthetic events. The user retains full
responsibility for drug doses used; this is meant to facilitate emergency
preparedness. It includes many drugs (and defibrillator) doses commonly used
in a CPCR and post-arrest settings and has different doses based on species
where applicable (lidocaine).

The user inputs the patient weight and units of weight measurement (pounds vs
kilograms); the app calculates the drug/defibrillator doses. These doses can
be viewed on the phone or emailed to an email account of the user’s choosing
which can then be printed out or copied into the patient’s electronic medical
record for future reference.

The dosages used from this application come from Plumb’s Veterinary Drug
Handbook, 6th edition; the defibrillator dosages come from Small Animal
Critical Care Medicine, by D. Silverstein and K. Hopper; Saunders 2009.
