Events are used to keep track of multiple receipts that apply to a single event. It could be a birthday party, or perhaps a road trip... anything you desire.
Receipts are pretty obvious, so I won't go into detail on that.
Splits are like pieces of a receipt. Think about it like this; a pie (or cake) can be split into several different pieces, preferably of the same size. The idea with splits is similar to that. But with each split that's added/deleted, all of the pieces are recalculated to be the same size. The cool thing is that one person can have more than one piece. This way, if someone needs to pay twice as much as everyone else, you just give them 2 pieces! The app does the rest.
