Kid-Tasktic, designed by parents for parents!

Kid-Tasktic is a tool for parents to help them track their child’s tasks, goals, or responsibilities for the week based on positive reinforcement.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Parents sit down with their child and plan their daily tasks or responsibilities and a first, second, and third prize, which are earned based on number of tasks completed. Tasks can be the same each day (e.g. Set Table) or occur once a week (e.g. Swim Practice). Each day can have as little as 1 task and as many as 6. When it comes to younger children it is easier for them to follow nice round numbers, so we ascribe to the KISS principle. Parents assign points to each task as they see fit, but the maximum for the day must total 10 points. Tasks are assigned Monday through Saturday, with prizes awarded on Sunday. So, the maximum points that can be earned in a week is 60. Based on the number of points earned, the parent awards first (50-60 points), second (40-49 points), or third (30-39 points) prize on Sunday. The points are then reset for the new week and the game starts again.

GETTING AROUND

The Home Screen gives you a snap shot of the points earned for each child for the current day and the cumulative total for the week.

Pressing the Kid-Tasktic logo will take you to the Home Screen at any time from anywhere in the app.

There is also a lock icon on every page to help prevent tampering (for parents with crafty little ones) if you have to leave the phone unattended. The password feature first has to be activated from the Set-Up Screen.

Pressing the gear icon takes you to the Set-Up Screen. Here you can enter a child’s name, as well as tasks and points by day, and end of week prizes. Press "Save" after setting up each day's tasks. To repeat tasks for the next day, press the menu key and select “Copy Task”. Next, choose the day you want to copy to, press the menu key and select “Paste Task”. Resetting the points for the new week can be accessed from the Set-Up Screen by pressing the device's menu button.

Pressing the child’s name from the Home Screen will take you to the Tracking Screen where you can mark tasks completed by that child for a particular day (remember to press Save!).
