GuitarQuest is a game that reveals how to organize the fretboard of the guitar for fluid playing in any style. Whether you play Classical Guitar, Rock, Fingerpicking, Jazz, or you just want to satisfy your own curiosity, you must understand how to move all over the fretboard. This is an important first challenge that many overlook in their eagerness to play "something" fast. The neck, however, is a barrier that must be learned eventually. How about crossing that barrier by playing a game?

Entering this quest, the aspiring guitarist ascends into an overview of the whole instrument. The secrets revealed are essential for the beginner or the intermediate player to move forward. This is done through five Tasks that must be completed to finish Quest 1. The best part is that you are playing a very satisfying game that is fun and challenging to do.

There are awards and music after each task, and you hear the sounds of what you discover on the App. Play along with it. The result will be clarity on the neck.

If you want more, reset the game and the challenge begins anew!

You are not alone on your quest! There is a mystical twist to the experience of this game as you meet the Guitar Sage. He will guide you through each task providing you with the fretboard wisdom and secrets that you need to ascend into a vision of the neck.

With each accomplishment you are rewarded for your efforts. As you finish each task, you will hear different styles of guitar playing and receive awards confirming your achievements.

The game was designed by Robert Phelps, a classical and jazz guitarist with more than 40 years of experience teaching guitar. He has taught guitar at the University of Massachusetts, Yale University, and Williams College. Mel Bay Publications, Inc. has published two of his guitar textbooks including "Mel Bay's Guitar Workbook".
