Dementia Screener is an layman's app to diagnose if someone has symptoms of dementia. This screening was first designed by Mundt JC, Freed DM, Greist JH and published in Lay person-based screening for early detection of Alzheimer's disease: development and validation of an instrument. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11833978) and the second screener is based on the AD8: a brief informant interview to detect dementia (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16116116). Both apps are designed to make screening for dementia easy for the layman, promote early diagnosis and the detection of dementia.

The screeners are digitised by Lau Cher Chien of the Bioinformatics Research Group (BIRG), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
