Forward to the Revised Edition of the Grace Ministries Telugu Study Bible.

The same LORD God who inspired the Bible led George Robert Crow, known as Bob Crow among his friends, to translate the Word of God into spoken Telugu.

At the height of his preaching and teaching ministry, Bob Crow felt led to invest the next many years in translating the Bible from Hebrew and Greek – the original languages of the Old and New Testaments – into spoken Telugu. As he translated the Bible, Bob Crow checked with several people to improve a style here or a word there, so that the meaning of the text may be clear for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

So after the Telugu Bible in spoken language was published, The Heavenly Father gave him another vision. To
prepare a study Bible for India. Bob Crow and Jeevan Nair began to work on that project - not something copied from a study Bible produced for the West, but writing notes especially for India. Where village pastors and Christians in small towns have no study helps or Biblical resources available.

For the next several years he was engaged in writing notes on the entire Bible. After all this it was translated into Telugu, with the help of India Bible Literature, Grace Ministries (founded by Crow in 1983) published the first Telugu Study Bible in history. Up to now more than 1,00,000 copies of this Study Bible have been distributed.

After several reprints of the Telugu Study Bible, Bob Crow thoroughly revised the New Testament text, improved the Old Testament text, as well as the notes. He not only checked, improved and corrected the text, but also aligned the New Testament text closer to the ‘Textus Receptus,” or the “Received Text” which is the first published Greek text of the New Testament. The King James Version, authorized in 1604 and published in 1611, is based on the “Textus Receptus”. Bob Crow worked day and night for several months and edited, changed and revised the NT text.

Bob Crow proof-read the last page of the New Testament and the very next day had to be admitted to the VA Hospital in Florida. Fourteen days later, he went to his and our Master, Lord and Savior, the Christ Jesus.

Bob Crow was a corn of wheat that fell into the Lord’s vineyard and brought forth a great harvest. He was a corn of wheat that did not ask for nor crave for human applause or appreciation, but sought to hear from the Father these words, “well done, my good and faithful servant”.
