Fluffy slime - This recipe is the easiest and simplest of all. Just like the name suggests, fluffy slime feels softer and lighter compared to a regular slime, and it might be soft enough for your hands to feel great while playing with it during your stress buster session. Slime doesn't just come in one single form or is made in a single way. There are many different types of slime that can satisfy a person in distress. Each form of slime has its own method of preparation.

For a rainy day activity, choose a scientific experiment. A messy but fun filled experiment that teaches basic chemistry would be to make your own slime. The recipe is easy and includes a simple mixture of half a cup of white glue and half a cup of liquid starch. Mix equally, knead with your hands and allow to rest, covered, for a few minutes. The educational aspect of this activity is to show how two liquids can form a solid when mixed, while allowing for a fun indoor family experience.

Basic fluffy slime recipe - This is a simple recipe that can be customized to make various forms of fluffy slime. Add more water for a wetter, stretchier slime, bits of polystyrene beads to make popping slime or glitter for slime. If you find that your slime is still sticky after kneading it for a while, keep adding cornstarch to the slime and knead it in until you get a good consistency. The recipe worked great when we tried it a couple times with just one cup cornstarch, but a co-worker found that he needed two cups to get the dough like consistency of a good fluffy slime. We think the brand of cornstarch and humidity may have a lot to do with the variance in cornstarch amounts from what we've observed in our experiments. As long as you end up with a semi hard, semi stretchy, moist, light, almost dough like slime, you did the recipe right. The next recipe has a similar consistency.

In additional, you can add food coloring at the end and knead it in, but the kids didn't want to add any they thought it looked like a cloud when it was white. They got out pots and pans and pretended that it was food. They put it into different containers and watched as it molded to the container shape. They squished it into cups to hear the funny sounds it would make they stretched it as far as they could before it would break.
